Left the Eram hotel at 8ish and found my way out of shiraz Crap Map not that bad this morning. While at the Eram Hotel the guy there Ali told me about Persepolis I researched this before the trip but had forgot about it, it’s on my route so I thought I would take a look it’s an accident site dating back to Alexander the great (I think) any way it say tourist on my visa so this morning I was doing the tourist thing, although I didn’t put the new camera around my neck. I also met Ali there. This site is truly amazing site and on the world heritage list. So walking around the site in my bike gear carrying my helmet a couple asked me if I was a spaceman of which I said yes I am buzz light year oh they said very good, well it made me laugh. So photos taken back on the road an easy ride today only 300 odd Kms. It was an interesting Journey I have been hit by a flying wheel trim from an immaculate Iranian car no idea what make but it had a BMW badge on the back. (yer right) I was stopped by the police for a while as he was telling me that I could not ride this type of bike in Iran. After he speaks to his boss he tells me its ok, well I have no idea what he was saying all hand movements. And a sand storm with very very strong winds. Today also an off road section just a gravel track but nice to be off road. Some snow caped mountains as the temperature dropped to about 15 as I was at 2500 meters. When reaching Yazd I set the GPS to Silk Road Hotel it’s in the back streets and they are great fun to navigate through, eventually get to the hotel and it’s really worth the trouble, a great place to hang out lots of travellers, have met 3 guys & a girl on bicycles travelling around the world. One of them is from Wales (enough said) no cool people. Tonight’s dinner will be Camel stew with potatoes.
